Sustainably grown in Costa Rica and cut from palm trees that are grown specifically for harvesting. Fresh hearts of palm are hand cut when they're very young - only about 3 feet tall. The palm fronds are dropped back down on the ground to act as a natural fertilizer. These hearts arrive raw and fresh, clean and ready-to-use. Boil in salted water until they can be easily pierced with a knife. You can then bake with a little butter and breadcrumbs or Manchego cheese on top. Broil until crumbs darken or cheese melts. They will also them be ready to serve in salads.
